MasterWhats website judicial dispute
Overview
The MasterWhats website, a platform that simulates instant messaging interfaces to display dialogues extracted from various investigations, was briefly taken offline following a confidential judicial order. The site had recorded 1.5 million visits in 15 days, allowing users to browse conversations involving numerous public figures, including Supreme Court Minister Alexandre de Moraes and various federal deputies and senators.
The developer, Lucas Matheus, stated the removal occurred without prior notice and maintained that the project utilized only publicly available data.
Following a preliminary injunction granted to the ‘Mais Bahia, Mais Brasil’ coalition—which alleged the site displayed fabricated dialogues—the platform was deactivated. However, the coalition subsequently withdrew its legal action. Consequently, electoral judge Isaías Vinícius de Castro Simões of the Bahia Regional Electoral Court ordered the technical restoration of the website. The developer noted that the platform aims to centralize conversations already made public through media reports and official Federal Police inquiries.
