Simultaneously, MDL has entered an MoU with National Shipbuilding and Heavy Industries Park-AP to develop a shipyard at Dugarajapatnam in Andhra Pradesh. MDL will invest approximately ₹15,000 crore into this facility, which is part of a larger integrated shipbuilding-cum-port cluster estimated at roughly ₹29,253 crore. The Andhra Pradesh project intends to manufacture tankers, bulk carriers, and LNG carriers, supporting the Maritime Amrit Kaal Vision 2047.
