Memphis Grizzlies roster moves regarding Jordan Hawkins

Overview

In September 2026, the Memphis Grizzlies acquired guard Jordan Hawkins from the New Orleans Pelicans in a multi-player trade. The deal included Memphis receiving Micah Peavy and two second-round draft assets, while the Pelicans received AJ Johnson and Taj Gibson.

By October 2026, the Memphis Grizzlies and Hawkins mutually agreed to waive him, allowing the former 2023 lottery pick to enter free agency. Despite the move, Memphis remains responsible for his full salary of approximately $7 million for the upcoming season. The roster change occurs as the Grizzlies undergo a rebuilding phase.
