Mersin Cinema Office international promotion

The Mersin Cinema Office (MSO), the sole Turkish member of the European Film Commission Network (EUFCN), is expanding its international presence to promote Mersin as a film production hub.

Initially, the MSO gained recognition through the EUFCN’s “World’s Natural Shooting Locations” digital showcase, which highlighted the historic Tarsus Houses to attract international producers. Following this, the office announced it will represent the city at the Shooting Locations Marketplace 2026 in Valladolid, Spain, to showcase Mersin’s diverse landscapes, including the Taurus Mountains and Mediterranean coasts.

Beyond location promotion, the MSO has begun supporting specific productions, such as the film ‘Kesilmiş Bir Ağaç Gibi’ (Like a Cut Tree), which was selected as Turkey’s official candidate for the Best International Feature Film at the 99th Academy Awards.
