Mexican regional security and welfare infrastructure updates

Overview

Local governments in Mexico have been implementing new security infrastructure and social welfare initiatives.

In Hidalgo and Tlaxcala, authorities inaugurated Control and Command Centers (C2) designed to enhance emergency response and public security. The facility in Tula de Allende utilizes artificial intelligence and a network of over 650 surveillance units, including alert towers with panic buttons to protect women and children. In Tlaxcala, the new center connects to the state’s C5i network to improve coordination between security forces.

In Oaxaca, security efforts expanded with the launch of a C2 in Asunción Ixtaltepec, featuring 40 surveillance cameras connected to the state intelligence center. Alongside these security measures, the state inaugurated the LIBRE Center in Totolapa to provide legal and psychological assistance for women through the Comprehensive Attention Program for the Well-being of Women (Paibim).
