Mexican rural road infrastructure improvements

Overview

Local and state governments in Mexico are implementing infrastructure projects to improve rural connectivity and support agricultural logistics.

In Zacatecas, the municipal government of Guadalupe, in coordination with the state government, is rehabilitating harvest roads in communities such as Zóquite, Boca Negra, and San Jerónimo. These works aim to allow agricultural workers to transport livestock and products more safely. Additional support in the region includes seed delivery and the desilting of ponds for rainwater collection.

In Puebla, the Secretariat of Infrastructure has commenced grading and leveling 1.56 kilometers of the Cuautapehual-La Unión rural road in Nauzontla. Located in the Sierra Nororiental region, this project is intended to facilitate the movement of corn, bean, and coffee crops, while reducing transportation costs and times for local residents and workers.
