Martínez described the request as a “garrafal error” (huge mistake) by the technical secretary of the Board of Directors, Daniel Sibaja González, asserting that the Board had not reached a collective agreement to seek such privileges. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs subsequently denied the request. President Claudia Sheinbaum also weighed in, emphasizing a policy of “zero privileges” for public officials.
