Mexican student academic and scientific achievements

Mexican students have achieved various forms of international and regional recognition in education, science, and biotechnology.

Initial achievements included gold medals in educational and science competitions. Lili Sofía Hernández Reséndiz of the Universidad de Guanajuato received a gold medal for her project ‘Ancestral: raíces Uzá que hablan, enseñan y permanecen’, which focuses on preserving indigenous languages. In Jalisco, Adriana Alejandra Ramírez Cortés of the Universidad de Guadalajara won a gold prize in the Vanda International Junior Science Olympiad qualifiers.

Subsequent developments highlighted advancements in biotechnology and bioengineering research. At the University of California San Diego, Camila Montiel from TecNM – Tijuana participated in the ENLACE 2026 program, researching methods to detect pancreatic digestive enzyme activity to assist in clinical evaluations. Additionally, students from the Universidad Tecnológica de Coahuila presented research at the Northeast Biotechnology and Bioengineering Conference in Monterrey, showcasing projects such as cactus mucilage-based waterproofing agents and nutritional improvements in food products.
