Overview

In late July 2026 the Baja California governor confirmed Salvador Morales Riubí’s continuation as rector of the Universidad Tecnológica de Tijuana for a 2026‑2030 term. Under his leadership enrollment surpassed 6,000 students, new undergraduate and engineering degrees were added, and a graduate‑research division began offering three master’s programmes.

The Universidad Autónoma de Coahuila’s LobosCamp 2026 ran across three regional units, hosting more than 1,200 children aged 5‑12 in two‑week camps that blended science, arts, sports and cultural activities, with support from local agencies such as DIF Coahuila. The program closed with a ceremony on 31 July at the Paraninfo del Ateneo Fuente and simultaneous events in Torreón, Monclova, Múzquiz and Piedras Negras, where participants showcased workshop results and long‑serving instructors were honored.

These developments illustrate an ongoing effort by Mexican universities to expand professional training for civil servants while deepening community engagement through youth education and extracurricular programs.
