Mexican university knowledge festivals
Overview
In October 2026, several Mexican universities launched academic events focused on scientific and technological dissemination.
The Universidad Autónoma de Sinaloa (UAS) inaugurated its 2026 Knowledge Day under the theme ‘Science, technology and innovation at the service of society.’ The event included a lecture by Hungarian Ambassador Zoltán Németh regarding historical diplomatic ties between Mexico and Hungary, and featured specific academic activities within the UAS Faculty of Dentistry.
Concurrently, the Universidad Autónoma de Baja California (UABC) and the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) opened the Festival del Conocimiento 2026. Held under the motto ‘El conocimiento al alcance de la mano’ (Knowledge within reach), the festival aims to treat knowledge as a public good. The initiative began in Ensenada and was designed to expand into Mexicali and Valle de las Palmas to promote community development through shared research.
