Mexico industrial park expansion

Overview

Under the ‘Plan Mexico’ strategy, President Claudia Sheinbaum announced the development of 20 new industrial parks across eight states. Supported by the Mexican Association of Private Industrial Parks (AMPIP), this initiative involves an investment of approximately $763 million and aims to create over 32,000 jobs. The expansion targets strategic corridors in the Northern Border, the AIFA corridor, the Bajío region, and Baja California to strengthen supply chains in sectors such as automotive, medical, aerospace, and electronics.

Following this announcement, specific projects have entered the construction phase. In Hidalgo, work has begun on the Zapotlán Economic Development Pole for Wellbeing, a 922-hectare project involving private investment exceeding 10 billion Mexican pesos. Simultaneously, in Mexico City, construction has started on the Iztapalapa III complex, a 33 million USD logistics facility designed to support e-commerce and last-mile delivery.
