In late July 2026, Mexico’s classical music scene featured two major orchestral initiatives. On July 23, the Minera Symphony Orchestra opened its summer season at the Silvestre Revueltas Hall in Mexico City, presenting a program that included a world‑premiere cello concerto and a children‑focused concert led by actor‑singer Mario Iván Martínez.

A week later, on July 30, the Orquesta Sinfónica Infantil de México (OSIM) began a national tour after completing an intensive camp in Oaxtepec that trained 142 young musicians from Mexico and several Central‑American countries. The seven‑concert tour, part of the Orquestas por la Paz circuit, visited multiple states and concluded at the Palacio de Bellas Artes, showcasing works by Verdi, Tchaikovsky and Mexican composers.
