Michigan human trafficking ring sentencing

Overview

Chinese national Jin Jingyu (also referred to as Jingyu Jin) has been sentenced to a prison term between 40 months and 20 years for her role in operating a large-scale human trafficking and forced prostitution ring in Michigan.

Authorities identified the enterprise as one of the largest forced commercial sex operations uncovered in the state. The ring utilized two illicit massage parlors in the metro Detroit area, specifically 111 Healing Studio in St. Clair Shores and AM Healing Studio in Sterling Heights. The operation involved trafficking women from China and South Korea across the ocean to work at these locations.

Jin pleaded no contest to conducting a criminal enterprise and was found guilty of charges including money laundering, conspiracy, and human trafficking for the purpose of prostitution. Several accomplices were also involved, including Piao Huazi, who received a similar sentence, and U.S. citizen Jon Villasurda Sr.
