Middle school teacher misconduct in Voula, Greece

Overview

A 58-year-old physical education teacher at a middle school in Voula, Greece, was arrested following allegations of sexual harassment involving minors. The investigation began after a mother reported that the teacher inappropriately touched her 13-year-old daughter during physical exercise. Subsequent testimonies from two male students alleging similar misconduct led the Minister of Education to place the teacher on mandatory leave and launch an official administrative inquiry.

Following the investigation, the Secondary Disciplinary Council of the Ministry of Interior issued a permanent dismissal after an objection from the Governor of the National Transparency Authority. The investigation concluded that the teacher had engaged in improper behavior, including the verbal and physical harassment of a student through isolation in a classroom over a three-month period. Additionally, a Mixed Jury Court found the individual guilty of criminal offenses related to the grooming of a child over the age of twelve.
