MIDeC ceramic design exhibitions
Overview
The International Museum of Ceramic Design (MIDeC) in Laveno Mombello is hosting several exhibitions related to the 2025 Midec Prize for Contemporary Ceramics.
In September, the museum began featuring “A memoria di forma,” a solo exhibition by 2025 absolute winner Alice Reina, which showcases porcelain sculptural and installation works. This is accompanied by a project room presentation of “Chain” by Stella Giada Giudice, a recipient of a Midec Lab mention.
On September 20, 2026, the museum also presented “A fior di mani,” a participatory ceramic art installation in the MIDeC gardens. Created by guests of the Fondazione Menotti Bassani ETS and the Progetto Rughe ODV, the project aims to promote social inclusion in observance of World Alzheimer's Day. The installation follows a mention awarded to the ABRACADABRA project for its experimental approach to using ceramics for vulnerable individuals. This installation is scheduled to remain on display until October 30, 2026.
