Minibus accidents involving workers in Turkey

Overview

A series of minibus accidents involving workers has occurred in different regions of Turkey.

In Elazığ, a minibus transporting employees from the Karsom fish company crashed into a ravine in the Keban district. The accident resulted in thirteen injuries, with five individuals reported to be in serious condition. Local authorities and emergency services, including AFAD and UMKE, responded to the scene to extract trapped individuals.

In Kastamonu, a separate incident occurred in the Çatalzeytin district when a minibus carrying workers lost control and rolled approximately 100 meters down a ravine. This accident resulted in the death of an 18-year-old worker, İsmail Korkmaz, and left four others injured, including the driver. Local prosecutors have launched an investigation into the Kastamonu crash.
