Investigation into Onhaye deaths leads to drug suspect

Overview

Following a two-month disappearance that began on June 27, the bodies of five-year-old Tyméo Brigou and his 29-year-old father, Bryan Brigou, were discovered in Onhaye, Namur province. The first body, believed to be Tyméo’s, was found on August 24 in a vegetated embankment along the N97 road. The second body, likely belonging to Bryan, was located the following day in a nearby wooded area. Bryan’s vehicle had previously been found abandoned near a local football club in late June.

In mid-September, the Namur Prosecutor's Office confirmed the identities of both individuals through DNA testing. Toxicological analyses revealed traces of drugs in Bryan Brigou, whereas Tyméo’s results were negative. Investigators also recovered Bryan Brigou’s mobile phone for analysis.

On September 27, Belgian authorities arrested a man in Charleroi in connection with the case. The suspect, born in 2001, faces charges related to drug trafficking that investigators believe may be linked to the fatalities. During interrogation, the suspect reportedly confessed to selling cocaine and cannabis to Bryan Brigou on the day of the disappearance, claiming he saw the child asleep in the car during the transaction.

Due to the advanced state of decomposition of the remains, autopsies have been unable to determine the exact cause of death for either Bryan or Tyméo. The judicial and scientific investigation remains ongoing as authorities explore multiple leads.
