Missing German nationals on Mallorca
Overview
Reports have emerged regarding several incidents involving missing German nationals on the Spanish island of Mallorca.
In early September, two German children, aged 7 and 14, were reported missing in the s’Albufera Natural Park after their father became disoriented while seeking assistance for a flat tire during a bicycle tour. Following a large-scale search involving local police, the Guardia Civil, and environmental authorities, the siblings were located unharmed near a road between Alcúdia and Palma.
Other reports indicate separate disappearances of elderly German nationals. Reiner Schnell, a 77-year-old retiree, has been missing from the Llucmajor municipality since September 11, 2026. Additionally, 72-year-old Hans Peter Harke has been missing since July 31, 2026, after leaving his family estate in Campos for a bicycle ride without identification, money, or supplies.
