Missing persons search operations in Brazil
Overview
Search and rescue efforts have been reported for individuals missing in different regions of Brazil.
In Cascavel, Paraná, an 84-year-old woman with Alzheimer’s was located by Municipal Guard teams in the early hours of a Friday. She was found injured and disoriented in the Brasília neighborhood after wandering from her home. Following first aid from SAMU medical teams, she was transported to the Brasília Urgent Care Unit for evaluation.
In other locations, authorities are conducting active searches. In Cáceres, rescue teams are using drones and sweeping techniques near the BR-070 highway to locate a man approximately 40 years old who disappeared following a mental health episode. Meanwhile, in Angra dos Reis, firefighters are using tracking dogs to search for an 82-year-old woman with Alzheimer’s who went missing near a wooded area in the Banqueta neighborhood; heavy rain has reportedly complicated these efforts.
