Ümit Uysal book release on Turkey’s modernization

Muratpaşa Mayor Ümit Uysal has released a book titled ‘21. Yüzyılda Yeniden Cumhuriyet – Modernleşmenin Yapay Zeka Çağındaki Yeni Aşaması’ (The Republic Again in the 21st Century – The New Stage of Modernization in the Age of Artificial Intelligence).

In initial promotional events, Uysal argued that Turkey must unite around the founding philosophy of the Republic to navigate the challenges of the artificial intelligence revolution and global competition. He called for reforms in law, ethics, and transparency to address historical dependencies and strengthen national unity.

During subsequent discussions in Ankara, Uysal expanded on the nation’s socio-economic difficulties. He highlighted a crisis of trust, a significant technological and innovation gap, and a massive trade deficit. He specifically noted that high food costs and a lack of future prospects have led three out of four young people to desire emigration, characterizing the national atmosphere as a “widespread depression.” Uysal emphasized that overcoming these issues requires significant investment in digital infrastructure, high technology, and institutionalization.
