Mitsubishi Electric data‑center cooling expansion

In mid‑July 2026 Mitsubishi Electric Hydronics & IT Cooling Systems S.p.A. completed the acquisition of the Dutch APAC Group and its sister company COMPAC. The purchase merged the two firms into a single European unit that will handle sales, installation and maintenance of cooling and air‑conditioning systems for data centres across the Netherlands and the broader EU, bolstering Mitsubishi’s one‑stop capability as demand for integrated data‑center cooling grows.

A few weeks later, Mitsubishi Electric announced the formation of MEHITS US Inc in Mason, Ohio, converting part of its automotive electronics plant into a dedicated factory for IT‑cooling equipment. The $30 million facility, slated to start production in April 2027, aims to produce up to 6,000 cooling units annually by 2030, shortening lead times and ensuring a stable supply for U.S. customers, especially for liquid‑cooling systems serving AI‑intensive data centres. The technology will be sourced from Mitsubishi’s Italian cooling unit and sold alongside its power‑supply solutions already present in the U.S. market.
