Moldova-Türkiye economic relations

Overview

Moldovan Prime Minister Vasile Tofan announced a goal to double bilateral trade with Türkiye to $2 billion within approximately two years. Current trade volumes are roughly $1 billion, making up about 5% of Moldova’s GDP. The Prime Minister noted that 1,200 Turkish companies are already active in Moldova across sectors such as energy, tourism, and road construction, and suggested Moldova could act as a strategic export platform for Turkish manufacturers seeking EU access.

Following this, President Maia Sandu met with the Turkish Ambassador in Chișinău to further discuss bilateral relations and investments.
