Overview

Heavy rainfall and monsoon conditions have caused significant flooding and infrastructure issues across several regions.

In Lucknow, intense downpours led to widespread waterlogging in residential areas and major roads, such as Chinhat and Sitapur Road. Authorities warned of flash flood risks as river flows were predicted to reach 2.2 times normal levels.

Subsequent heavy rains caused further disruption in Gwalior and Kanpur. In Gwalior, continuous rainfall submerged roads and hindered vehicular traffic. In Kanpur, intense rain inundated over 50 major roads and caused a section of VIP Road to collapse, creating an 18-foot deep crater due to soil weakening. These weather events have also resulted in fallen trees and power outages.
