Montenegro social and scientific development initiatives

Overview

Montenegro has undertaken several initiatives aimed at enhancing research capacity and social inclusivity. The Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation conducted a three day training session in Podgorica to improve the ability of local researchers and companies to prepare project proposals for the Horizon Europe program. This training covered essential elements such as budgeting, risk mitigation, and the use of AI tools in proposal development.

In the social sector, Podgorica announced plans to establish the country’s first employment center for persons with disabilities. Funded by the European Fund for Social Policy Development, the two year project will focus on mapping needs and identifying job opportunities to help individuals enter the labor market. Additionally, the University of Montenegro has launched the Office for Support to Persons with Disabilities through the HAWKING project, supported by Erasmus+, to reduce physical and digital barriers for students transitioning to higher education.
