Overview
In mid‑July 2026, the Rabat police inaugurated a second‑generation command and coordination centre, marking the latest step in the Moroccan security forces’ effort to upgrade operational command infrastructure.
A few weeks later, on 29 July, the Directorate General of National Security opened new regional security complexes in Al Hoceïma, Laâyoune, and announced upgrades for facilities in Fès and Nador. The new 8,000‑square‑metre complex in Al Hoceïma houses a precinct, traffic‑accident brigade, mobile order‑maintaining unit, medical unit and permanent video‑surveillance system, while the Laâyoune headquarters provides integrated offices and advanced IT and communications capabilities. These projects are part of the broader programme to modernise police facilities, improve service quality for citizens, and enhance working conditions for police personnel across Morocco.
