Mos Nuevo Puxeiros urban development

In late July 2026 the council of Mos unveiled the Nuevo Puxeiros urban plan, a 32,617‑square‑metre scheme that devotes about two‑thirds of the area to public space under the slogan “Construimos futuro”. The proposal called for 240 new homes—including 80 social‑housing units—10,500 sqm of parks, a 3,246 sqm municipal cultural and leisure centre, and over 110 public parking spaces, emphasizing pedestrian mobility, green infrastructure and a balanced, sustainable urban core.

A week later the municipality inaugurated the upgraded Puxeiros and O Rebullón avenues, key components of the broader Nuevo Puxeiros development. The €1.282 million works widened sidewalks, created pedestrian zones, added green space and street furniture, installed new lighting, buried utilities, and built a rain‑water collection network while reconfiguring the Rotonda dos Bois roundabout. Funding came jointly from the Xunta de Galicia (47%), the Diputación de Pontevedra (51%) and Mos city council (2%). Officials highlighted the improvements in accessibility, road safety and environmental sustainability as part of Mos’s future growth strategy.
