Most restaurant fire negligence indictment
Overview
A prosecutor in Most has indicted two individuals for public endangerment due to negligence following a fatal fire at the U Kojota restaurant. The incident, which occurred in January 2025, resulted in seven deaths and ten injuries.
Investigations determined the fire was caused by a falling gas heater that created a leak in a propane-butane mixture, leading to a rapid jet fire across the terrace. The investigation also found that the heaters were positioned on an unapproved terrace and that the restaurant stored more pressure vessels than permitted by manufacturer instructions. If convicted, the defendants face up to ten years in prison.
