Motley Crue internal disputes and health updates
Overview
Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx has addressed various challenges facing the band, including frontman Vince Neil’s health and legal disputes with former guitarist Mick Mars.
Sixx defended Neil following criticism of his live vocals, noting that Neil is recovering from a fourth stroke suffered in late 2024. After extensive physical therapy, Neil has reportedly achieved a 90 to 95 percent recovery. The band has been selective with song choices to accommodate Neil, though he has expressed a desire to perform more demanding tracks.
Simultaneously, Sixx refuted allegations made by Mick Mars regarding the band’s use of session musicians or pre-recorded tracks during live performances. Sixx characterized these claims as untrue attempts to gain leverage in a lawsuit that was dismissed earlier this year. He described the conflict as a personal betrayal.
The band continues to tour with guitarist John 5 and has announced a residency in Las Vegas titled ‘Carnival of Sins’ at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, scheduled for March to April 2027.
