Motul motorsport technical partnerships

Overview

Motul is expanding its technical partnerships within motorsport to use racing as a testing ground for high-performance lubricants. The company is deepening its collaboration with McLaren Racing, currently supplying specialized gear oil for McLaren’s Formula 1 gearbox and differential following research conducted in France and Japan.

This partnership is scheduled to expand in 2027 when McLaren enters the FIA World Endurance Championship’s Hypercar category. At that stage, Motul will provide engine and transmission lubricants and technical support through its Racing Lab, a mobile facility used to analyze fluid samples for thermal stability, oxidation, and wear. Motul also maintains technical partnerships with the Grasser Racing Team and Manthey.
