Movimento 5 Stelle political activity and programming

Overview

The Movimento 5 Stelle (M5S) has engaged in efforts to build political alliances and strengthen its programmatic identity. Initially, leaders from M5S and Sinistra Italiana met in Vittoria to discuss a potential cooperation for upcoming administrative elections. This proposed alliance focused on creating a shared political program centered on anti-corruption, environmental protection, social cohesion, and local economic support.

Following these local discussions, the M5S expanded its activities through a series of regional rallies to promote its ‘Nova’ program. In Liguria, the party conducted a multi-day tour across several locations to encourage grassroots participation. In Campania, rallies were held to present the twenty programmatic points of the Nova process, which reportedly involved the participation of over 17,000 people. The party’s platform emphasizes labor, rights, the environment, public health, and education.
