Mozambican presidential diplomatic and domestic activities

Mozambican President Daniel Chapo has engaged in both diplomatic and domestic governance activities. In Maputo, Chapo met with the outgoing Congolese Ambassador, Constant Serge Bounda, to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation and preparing for a potential visit by Congolese President Denis Sassou Nguesso. During these discussions, Bounda requested Mozambique’s support for the Republic of the Congo’s candidacy for the United Nations Security Council for the 2030-2031 term.

In a separate address regarding constitutional justice, Chapo advocated for constitutions to act as tools for social transformation and emphasized the need for strong, accountable state institutions.

Following these diplomatic engagements, Chapo conducted a three-day working visit to Maputo Province to promote proximity governance. During this trip, he inaugurated a new judicial court in Ponta de Ouro, urging legal professionals to prioritize efficiency to avoid case backlogs. His itinerary also included public rallies and community meetings in Boane, Manhiça, and Matola to discuss local challenges and public policy.
