Multiple myeloma Phase 3 clinical trial developments
Overview
Recent clinical developments in multiple myeloma treatment have seen positive Phase 3 trial results from major pharmaceutical companies.
Bristol Myers Squibb reported that its Zenbexus regimen, used in combination with daratumumab and dexamethasone, met the second primary endpoint of progression-free survival in the EXCALIBER-RRMM trial. In patients with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma, the regimen demonstrated a median progression-free survival of 42 months, compared to 20 months for the control group.
Pfizer announced that its treatment, Elrexfio, met the primary endpoint in the MagnetisMM-32 Phase 3 trial. The study, which involved 523 adults across 26 countries, focused on patients who had previously received anti-CD38 therapy and lenalidomide. Results indicated an estimated 18-month progression-free survival rate of 68%, with Elrexfio reducing the risk of disease progression or death compared to control regimens.
