Municipal defibrillator network expansions in Spain
Overview
The municipality of Orihuela is expanding its network of semi-automatic external defibrillators (AED) by adding seven new outdoor units across coastal and rural areas, including La Aparecida and Playa Flamenca. This expansion will bring the city’s total to 53 operational devices, which are located in municipal buildings, outdoor spaces, and mobile units within Local Police and Civil Protection vehicles.
Simultaneously, the municipality of Ereño has upgraded its cardiac rescue capabilities by investing in new generation AEDs suitable for both adults and minors. This initiative includes establishing a new rescue point in the Gabika neighborhood, replacing older equipment near the City Hall, and providing training for local residents in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) techniques.
