Murder investigation and arrests in Torino
Overview
In October 2026, authorities in Torino arrested a 45-year-old woman and her 52-year-old partner for the premeditated and aggravated murder of 55-year-old Mikel Rroku.
The investigation followed the discovery of Rroku, an Albanian citizen, in his apartment on July 6. Neighbors had alerted authorities after noticing a strong odor. Upon inspection, the body was found in an advanced state of decomposition with a deep wound to the skull caused by a blunt object.
Subsequent investigations by the Carabinieri and the Public Prosecutor's Office determined that Rroku was killed on June 30, 2026. Autopsy results specified that the victim died from blunt force trauma to the head, specifically being “struck with a hammer”.
Investigators believe the motive was twofold: to allow the couple to pursue their relationship without interference and to gain control of the victim's social housing unit. The suspects remain in custody facing charges of aggravated premeditated murder.
