NADDC automotive technical training in Nigeria

The National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) has initiated several technical training programs in Nigeria to enhance capacity within the automotive sector.

In August 2026, the NADDC partnered with the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) to launch a Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) retrofitting training program. This pilot phase aims to train 300 corps members across six locations to support the country’s transition toward cleaner energy. Director-General Joseph Osanipin noted that skilled professionals are “essential to driving the CNG sector and the broader energy transition.”

Following this, the NADDC expanded its training efforts through additional collaborations. One program with BRYTE AUTO. TECH & DIAGNOSTICS LTD provides heavy-duty vehicle training for 150 technicians in Kogi, Edo, and Oyo States, focusing on the maintenance of equipment such as agricultural tractors. Simultaneously, a partnership with TOFEKO Limited targets 300 participants across six states—Ekiti, Imo, Kano, Nasarawa, Bauchi, and Cross River—to provide instruction in vehicle mechatronics and CNG retrofitting.
