Nagaland teacher training and wellness initiatives
Overview
Educational development programs in Nagaland have focused on both vocational curriculum implementation and educator well-being. The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) in Kohima conducted a three-day workshop for teachers from 46 PM SHRI schools and eight District Institutes of Education and Training. This training addressed the Kaushal Bodh initiative, a curricular program for students in Classes 6 to 8 designed to link classroom learning with practical experiences in areas such as life forms, machines, and human services.
In addition to vocational training, Dimapur Government College organized a workshop in Dimapur focused on mental health and wellness. Supported by the Nagaland Department of Higher Education, the session provided approximately 60 teachers from various institutions with strategies to manage mental stress resulting from increased workloads and shifting governance systems.
