Narco Bet investigation in Brazil

Overview

The TRF-3 court granted habeas corpus to digital influencer Bruno Alexssander Souza Silva, known as Buzeira, and businessman Rodrigo de Paula Morgado, allowing them to respond to criminal proceedings in freedom. Both were arrested in October 2025 during the Narco Bet operation, a Federal Police investigation into a money laundering scheme linked to the Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC) criminal faction.

Investigators allege the scheme used online betting platforms, illegal internet raffles, and shell companies to launder funds. Authorities suspect Buzeira acted as a ‘legitimate face’ for the operation, allegedly receiving R$ 19.7 million from Morgado, who is identified as a key financial operator for the PCC. While Buzeira was released under precautionary measures including an electronic ankle monitor, Morgado remains in custody due to a separate arrest warrant from the Rio de Janeiro Court.
