Narcotics seizures involving Bangladeshi police personnel

Law enforcement operations in Bangladesh have uncovered significant narcotics trafficking involving individuals linked to the police force.

In Dhaka, an Assistant Sub-Inspector and an accomplice were arrested following the seizure of 5,310 yaba tablets. The investigation revealed the officer had been absent from his duties since July. Both suspects were charged under the Narcotics Control Act.

In Cox’s Bazar, the Department of Narcotics Control raided a residence owned by a Chittagong Court Police officer. The raid resulted in the seizure of 90,000 yaba tablets and 3.62 million BDT in cash. Three individuals were detained, and authorities are investigating the officer’s potential involvement in the narcotics trade.
