NATO DIANA defense innovation network expansion

Overview

NATO’s Defense Innovation Accelerator (DIANA) is expanding its network through new partnerships with regional research and defense centers.

In August 2026, the Neuroscience and Neurotechnology Excellence Joint Application and Research Center (NÖROM) in Turkey joined the DIANA test network. As the first Turkish center to participate, NÖROM will provide research infrastructure for testing projects involving brain-computer interfaces, cognitive performance, and AI-supported signal analysis.

By September 2026, the Hellenic Defense Innovation Center (ELKAK) in Greece activated its participation in the DIANA Rapid Adoption Service (RAS). This initiative connects Greek dual-use technologies and startups with the operational needs of the Greek Armed Forces and the Alliance’s adoption mechanisms. ELKAK is facilitating these connections through industry meetings and sessions involving Greek companies and international defense players.
