Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz has since clarified that Poland remains interested in participating in the Nuclear Sharing program and is not withdrawing from discussions regarding the nuclear dimension of deterrence. Zalewski noted that Poland has gained the opportunity to participate in the Dual Capabilities Airborne (DCA) program, which serves as a precursor to Nuclear Sharing.

This stance has drawn criticism from former Defense Minister Mariusz Błaszczak, who argued that refusing the presence of warheads effectively means withdrawing from the Nuclear Sharing programme, as the initiative requires participating nations to provide infrastructure and transport capabilities for American weapons stationed on their soil.

Regarding broader bilateral security, Zalewski indicated that talks are underway concerning several potential locations for permanent American military bases, noting that the U.S. has significant interests in the region.
