NAVITIME Japan service expansions
Overview
NAVITIME Japan has introduced several updates to its navigation services. The company received the ‘App Ape 10-Year Award’ from Fuller Inc., recognizing its consistent growth in monthly active users over the last decade.
In terms of new functionality, the company launched a ‘Bus Stop Map’ feature for its ‘Bus NAVITIME’ application. This tool assists users at 7,425 stations across Japan by displaying bus stops and station exits on a single map to reduce confusion at large terminals.
Furthermore, the NAVITIME Drive Supporter app added a roadkill prevention feature. Using data from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, the app identifies 546 high-risk zones to provide audio and visual alerts for wildlife such as deer, wild boar, and foxes. NAVITIME intends to share driver speed data from these zones with the Ministry to support road safety and environmental policies.
