NBC launches The Voice: Celebrity spin‑off

Overview

In early August 2026 NBC announced a new celebrity edition of its long‑running singing competition, titled “The Voice: Celebrity,” slated to debut in spring 2027 as Season 31. The spin‑off will replace unknown singers with actors, musicians, influencers, athletes and comedians competing for a celebrity champion. Two days later, Carson Daly clarified on Instagram that scheduling conflicts with his duties on the “Today” show and family commitments prevent him from hosting the spin‑off. He will continue producing the new edition and retain his role as host of the main series, which he has led since its U.S. debut in 2011.
