NEC launches new devices 2026

Overview

In late July 2026 NEC announced two separate hardware products for the Japanese market. On 29 July the company unveiled the Lavie BT53C, a 13‑inch convertible tablet aimed at enterprise users. It is powered by Intel’s Panther‑Lake Core Ultra‑Series‑3 processor with a dedicated AI Neural Processing Unit capable of 49 TOPS, and includes security features such as Intel vPro, Microsoft Pluton and TPM 2.0. The tablet ships with Windows 11 Pro and is slated for a September launch in Japan, with a European release still pending.

Two days later, on 31 July, NEC introduced the LAVIE BM94C, a 999‑gram business laptop featuring an aerospace‑grade carbon‑fibre chassis, a 99.9 Wh battery delivering up to 30 hours of video playback, and AI‑driven power‑management. It runs Intel Core Ultra 5 or 7 CPUs, offers up to 32 GB RAM and up to 1 TB SSD, and is also sold exclusively in Japan. Together the announcements illustrate NEC’s push toward AI‑enabled, ultra‑portable devices for corporate customers.
