Nevada tungsten exploration

In late July 2026, two separate companies intensified exploration of Nevada's historic tungsten deposits.

Viking Mines mobilised a reverse‑circulation drill rig to begin its maiden drilling program on the Linka Tungsten Project, targeting scheelite‑bearing skarn mineralisation along historic workings. The first hole was slated for the week of 27 July, with the aim of generating a maiden resource estimate amid multiyear highs in tungsten prices and its designation as a critical defence mineral.

A few days later, Vault Strategic Mining launched a high‑resolution airborne magnetic survey over its War Bond Tungsten Project. Conducted with drone‑borne equipment, the 70‑km line survey is intended to map magnetic anomalies and structural trends that control tungsten‑bearing tactite and skarn mineralisation. The survey follows phase‑one sampling that returned significant tungsten and manganese grades. Both initiatives reflect a broader push to develop domestic sources of critical tungsten in the United States.
