New observation towers in the Czech Republic

Overview

The Czech Republic is seeing the development of new architectural landmarks to boost regional tourism. In late September, a 31-meter elliptical steel tower was established at Jitrovník through a joint Czech-Saxon initiative. This structure is set to become the country’s northernmost observation tower, rebuilding on a site that previously hosted a wooden tower from 1888 to 1903.

Following this, a 34.6-meter-tall tower at Javorník, which involved converting a telecommunications mast into a viewing platform, is scheduled for an official opening on October 28. After a trial period that attracted over 2,000 visitors, the Javorník site will host a formal ceremony featuring live music and regional festivities.
