In October 2026, New Taipei City hosted a series of events celebrating local culinary culture and market modernization.
The Good Market Festival began on October 17 at Banqiao Fuzhong Plaza, featuring food stalls from across the region. During the event, Mayor Hou You-yi noted that 7 billion TWD has been invested since 2019 to modernize traditional markets, with 15 markets already renovated and 10 reconstruction projects underway to create multifunctional community spaces.
Following this, the ‘24HR NEW TAIPEI OPEN’ exhibition was scheduled to open on October 30 at the Sanchin Center in Sanchong District. This immersive exhibition uses a supermarket concept to showcase the city’s food heritage through four themed zones representing different times of the day, from morning breakfast to late-night snacks.
