New York Rangers roster and goaltending updates

The New York Rangers recently adjusted their roster following a lower-body injury to fourth-line center Joe Veleno. To address the vacancy, the team recalled 20-year-old forward prospect Cole Beaudoin from the AHL’s Hartford Wolf Pack for his NHL debut. After a four-game stint in which Beaudoin recorded no points and experienced diminishing ice time, the Rangers reassigned him to Hartford and recalled veteran Justin Dowling to bolster the fourth line.

The team is now facing a significant goaltending crisis following season-ending injuries to starter Igor Shesterkin and a lower-body injury to backup Joonas Korpisalo. While rookie Dylan Garand has provided strong performances, his recent form suffered during a 7-1 blowout loss to the New Jersey Devils, where he was pulled after allowing four goals on 14 shots. To address immediate needs, the Hartford Wolf Pack signed veteran goaltender James Reimer to a professional tryout agreement.

General Manager Chris Drury is reportedly scouting options to bolster the net. Speculation has linked the team to Buffalo Sabres goaltender Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen, while other potential trade targets include Anthony Stolarz of the Toronto Maple Leafs and various pending unrestricted free agents such as Jordan Binnington and Philipp Grubauer. The organization continues to seek experienced depth to support Garand and Spencer Martin.
