Nicaragua Diseña international and domestic fashion events

Nicaragua Diseña has engaged in both international and domestic fashion showcases. In late September 2026, the organization participated in the BRICS+ Fashion Summit in Moscow, Russia, for the third consecutive year. During this event, held from September 28 to 30, designer Brisa Hernández presented a new collection as part of a delegation supported by the Nicaraguan Ambassador to the Russian Federation, Alba Azucena Torres. The delegation included General Coordinator Javiera Granja and General Producer Karla Cuadra.

Following the Moscow summit, the 15th edition of Nicaragua Diseña, themed ‘Legacy, Evolution, Future!’, took place from October 23 to 25, 2026, at the Olof Palme Convention Center in Managua. Supported by the Nicaraguan Institute of Tourism, the event featured 83 fashion shows, comprising 60 national designers and 23 international participants from countries including Russia, China, Cuba, Thailand, Italy, Turkey, Spain, Romania, Venezuela, Colombia, Mexico, Honduras, Suriname, El Salvador, Panama, and Costa Rica.

The domestic event included 143 Nicaraguan models and four international models, alongside masterclasses, photographic exhibitions, live music, and a gastronomy area. General Director Camila Ortega Murillo participated in a special meeting for international designers at the Casa de los Pueblos to facilitate cultural exchange and professional collaboration regarding design trends.

Upon the conclusion of the 15th edition, several awards were presented to recognize talent. Key winners included Cristina Marota for Emerging Designer, Jackson Bello for Creative Suit Designer, and David Muñoz Olivas of Accesorios Yoli for Expo-fair Entrepreneurship. The event also provided recognition for designers with long-standing careers and those contributing to cultural internationalization.
