Nilüfer choir festivals and national family nature events

In July 2024 the Nilüfer municipality sent its Child, Youth and Kaizen choirs to the "Korolar Buluşuyor‑3" festival in Gazimağusa, Northern Cyprus, performing with local ensembles, highlighting the sister‑city link and raising funds for families hit by the February 2024 earthquakes in Hatay and Adıyaman.

Later that year a three‑week rural‑children arts programme ran in the villages of Gökçe, İrfaniye and Büyükbalıklı, ending with a village festival that showcased workshops, games and the newly formed children’s choir Nilüfer MÜÇO.

In July 2026 the municipality, together with the non‑profit Müzikist Association, repeated the initiative for the same neighbourhoods, reaching 113 children and offering workshops on children’s rights, visual arts, rhythm and body percussion. The project concluded with the "Nilüfer Anadolu Sanatdolu Köy Şenliği" at Gökçe Village School, where Nilüfer MÜÇO performed alongside guest artists; Mayor Şadi Özdemir confirmed the programme will continue.

In August 2026 Turkey’s Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry launched a nationwide "Aile Kampı" family‑camp event across all 81 provinces, providing nature walks, bird‑watching, camp games and stargazing in protected areas such as Çubuk Karagöl and Termessos. The rollout was presented as part of a broader push to deliver creative, educational and outdoor experiences for children and families, citing the Nilüfer arts project and other municipal programmes as exemplars.

These actions illustrate an expanding pattern of municipal and national cultural‑ and nature‑based outreach aimed at rural and underserved communities throughout Turkey.
