Noida elevated road subsidence

Overview

A significant section of the Noida elevated road subsided between Sector-61 and Sector-18, resulting in a sinkhole approximately 20 feet long and 10 feet deep. While no major accidents or casualties were reported, the incident caused immediate panic and major traffic disruptions on a route used by millions of commuters daily connecting Delhi, Ghaziabad, and Greater Noida West.

Police closed the affected portion of the road to ensure safety, leading to long traffic jams. In response, the Noida Authority's civil and water departments arrived at the site with heavy machinery to begin investigations.
